News: “Trash 2 Transit”

Some exciting news this week as I received author’s copies of my book Trash 2 Transit, and they look great!

Trash 2 Transit is a comic book commissioned by Benchmark Education as part of their Represent series of leveled reading material. My story follows teenager Ethan and his cousins as they construct their own bicycles from scrap.

As a book designer, I can tell you it always feels great to work on a book and hold the finished product in your hands. As the author, it feels even better. I’d like to thank Michael Bagnulo of Benchmark for the inspiring and editing the story, and to Ramon Gil for the reference.

If you are an educator and are looking for a Grade 5 reader, you can buy Trash 2 Transit and lots of other books from Benchmark’s site.

From the back cover of Trash 2 Transit:

After getting stuck in a storm waiting for the bus, Ethan builds bicycles for himself and his friends. Noe they can go where they want, when they want. Can they share this new freedom with others in the community? Time to start a bike share revolution!
